Humane Methods of Killing Laboratory Animals is an online e-learning module which provides information on the principles of humane killing (what constitutes ‘a good death’), the legal requirements, and the methods available for mice and rats. Future releases will include methods for other species.

Guidelines for the Euthanasia of Animals provides guidance on the euthanasia of research animals (including fish and aquatic invertebrates). It includes sections on different techniques and the application of each, the use of euthanasia in different species and information on individual species physiological and behavioural responses to euthanasia.
