Three Rs Microsite
Three Rs Microsite provides information, guidance and resources to facilitate the implementation of the replacement, refinement and reduction (3Rs) of animal use in research.
The resource comprises of information on the 3Rs, strategies for their implementation in animal care, husbandry and research, and resources for ethics committee (IUCAC/AWERB’s) members including additional resources for lay members. Application of the 3Rs is facilitated by including: an Animal Index (http://3rs.ccac.ca/en/searches-and-animal-index/ai-animal-index/) which groups 3Rs resources by category and/or species of animal to assist in finding resources specific to certain types of animals; an animal use protocol worksheet (http://3rs.ccac.ca/documents/en/Animaluseprotocol_worksheet.doc); a 3Rs Search Guide (http://3rs.ccac.ca/en/searches-and-animal-index/guide/) providing instructions on how to conduct a 3Rs information search; an Alternative Test Methods Table (http://3rs.ccac.ca/en/testing-and-production/alternative-test-methods/) which provides information on non-animal alternative regulatory tests; links to 3Rs journals.
