Ethical Review is a micro website covering all aspects of the ethical review processes. It includes guidance documents on good practice for ethical review processes, and a resource booklet for lay members of ethical review processes.
This resource was created by the Science Group of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA, UK). Copyright of the microsite is retained by the RSPCA. Guidance notes have been produced in collaboration with other colleagues and organisations including the Laboratory Animal Science Association (LASA, UK).
This resource will be useful for individuals engaged in the design and conduct of studies using research animals, members of committees charged with the ethical review of these studies, and for educators and trainers (at all levels).

The front page of this microsite provides an excellent overview of the area, with links to resources if more detail is required.
This education could be provided either didactically or in a discussion of the "ideal" versus the actual ethical review mechanisms and structures. An alternative would be to give the students a completed Project Licence application and get them to act as an Animal Welfare Ethical Review Body and review the application, picking out its flaws and discrepancies
